Job Description

We are seeking a Motorsports Sportscar Data Analyst to apply data science and modeling techniques to develop and refine race strategy tools, facilitating insightful pre-race planning and real-time decision making during live race events. This role involves developing AI/ML models, creating simulation platforms, and collaborating with motorsports teams to optimize race strategies.

Responsibilities
  • Refine existing AI/ML models and reimagine them as needed.
  • Develop platforms for Monte Carlo simulations and tire degradation models.
  • Create visualizations to effectively communicate insights and collaborate with IT for deployment.
  • Verify and improve race strategy tools, working with IMSA and WEC teams.
  • Analyze vehicle pace, track conditions, and other factors to inform strategy.
  • Work with cross-functional teams within GM and its motorsports partners.
  • Co-develop software for race strategies and apply analysis techniques across different racing series.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
  • 5+ years in top-level motorsports series with experience in strategy tools.
  • Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, or similar programming languages.
  • Knowledge of AI/ML techniques and big data tools is a plus.
Additional Information

This role may be eligible for relocation benefits and requires travel within the US approximately 10% of the time.
