Job Description

Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite, requiring reporting to Concord, NC on a full-time basis.

The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Data Processing Engineer to join the Aero Innovation team within the Motorsports Aerodynamic Department. Your primary responsibility will be to develop complex data pipelines and data-processing systems to enhance our aerodynamics development activities for motorsport and high-performance production vehicles. As part of our multidisciplinary team, you will design, develop, and optimize solutions to address technical challenges, contributing significantly to our competitiveness.

What You’ll Do
  1. Architect, design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines for large volumes of structured and unstructured data from multiple sources.
  2. Collaborate with data engineers and other teams to integrate data from various platforms and systems (e.g., on-prem and cloud databases, data lakes, APIs, third-party vendors).
  3. Ensure data integrity, consistency, and quality through automated validation and monitoring.
  4. Identify and optimize performance bottlenecks in data workflows.
  5. Partner with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into data solutions.
  6. Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code following best practices.
  7. Prepare and present technical reports and specifications to stakeholders.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
  • 5+ years in data engineering, data processing, or related industry.
  • Proficiency in Python, C++, Java.
  • Experience with Kafka, Flink, Databricks.
  • Knowledge of distributed systems management (e.g., SLURM, LSF).
  • Experience with relational and non-relational databases (SQL, MongoDB).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Effective collaboration skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in relevant fields.
  • Experience in motorsports industry.
  • Knowledge of data governance, privacy, security practices.
  • Experience with HPC architecture and Data Acquisition systems.
  • Developing Live Streaming data pipelines.
  • Understanding aerodynamic testing practices.
