Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite, requiring the successful candidate to report to Concord, NC on a full-time basis.

The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Data Processing Engineer to join the Aero Innovation team within the Motorsports Aerodynamic Department. Your primary responsibility will be to develop complex data pipelines and data-processing systems that enhance the productivity and capabilities of our aerodynamics development activities for both motorsport and high-performance production vehicles. As a member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be at the forefront of designing, developing, and optimizing state-of-the-art solutions to tackle challenging technical obstacles. Your role is crucial and will significantly contribute to our competitiveness.

What You’ll Do

  • Architect, design, build, and maintain scalable and efficient data pipelines to process and transform large volumes of structured and unstructured data from multiple sources.
  • Collaborate with data engineers and other teams to integrate data from various platforms and systems (e.g., on-premises and cloud databases, data lakes, APIs, third-party vendors).
  • Ensure data integrity, consistency, and quality through automated validation and monitoring processes.
  • Identify performance bottlenecks in data workflows and optimize systems for fast and reliable data processing.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (Data Scientists, Product Managers, Engineers, Aerodynamicists) to translate business requirements into efficient data solutions.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code, adhering to best practices in software engineering.
  • Prepare and present detailed technical reports, specifications, and presentations to stakeholders.

What You’ll Need (Required Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, data processing, or related fields within the engineering industry.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, and Java.
  • Extensive experience with data processing tools and platforms like Kafka, Flink, Databricks.
  • Skilled in managing distributed computing systems such as SLURM, LSF.
  • Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases (e.g., SQL, MongoDB).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to optimize complex data workflows.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

This position may be eligible for relocation benefits.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related fields.
  • Experience within the motorsports industry.
  • Knowledge of data governance, privacy, and security best practices.
  • Experience with HPC architecture.
  • Hands-on experience with instrumentation and Data Acquisition systems.
  • Skills in developing Live Streaming data pipelines.
  • Familiarity with aerodynamic testing and practices.
