Job summary

M-Sport UK is seeking a Yard Operative to join the Operations team at the Dovenby Hall headquarters. This hands-on role supports the day-to-day operation of our site, vehicles and event activities, aiding safe movement, preparation and organisation of equipment, vehicles and supplies.

You will load/unload, perform basic vehicle checks, drive locally and nationally, maintain equipment records and help keep the yard tidy and safe, with flexible hours including evenings and weekends to fit

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence and the ability to drive a range of company vehicles.
• Previous driving experience would be advantageous.
• Strong practical and hands-on skills with equipment, tools, vehicles and materials.
• Good understanding of basic vehicle checks and maintaining vehicle safety.
• Knowledge of health and safety when working with vehicles, equipment and materials.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a busy event operations team.
• Strong organisational skills to manage equipment, vehicles and competing priorities.
• Good verbal communication with colleagues across the business.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, in line with motorsport requirements.

Responsibilities

• Loading & Unloading: Safely load and unload event equipment, tools and supplies from trucks and storage facilities.
• Vehicle Checks: Perform regular basic maintenance checks on a range of vehicles, ensuring roadworthiness and safety compliance.
• Vehicle Maintenance Reporting: Report maintenance issues or defects to the Transport Manager.
• General Driving: Local and national driving duties, including airport runs and deliveries of parts and materials.
• Vehicle Movement: Move trucks and large vehicles on site and for events, including road tests.
• Equipment Management: Maintain records of equipment and tools, ensuring proper storage and maintenance.
• Site Upkeep: Keep the yard and facilities clean, tidy and safe.
• Event Support: Assist with event set-ups and other operational requirements.
