Job summary

Motion Applied seeks a senior Mechanical Engineering leader to drive high-performance teams, align resource planning with project goals, and ensure governance across the engineering lifecycle. You will collaborate with Product Development Managers and other disciplines to deliver robust mechanical solutions in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasises leadership, strategic thinking and hands-on oversight, with flexible working options and a strong focus on innovation and product excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Strong leadership, coaching and people-development skills.
• Experience in resource planning, workload management and prioritisation.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management abilities.
• Understanding of BS8888 and engineering drawing standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a mechanical engineering team to deliver multiple programmes.
• Plan and prioritise team activities with Product Development Managers.
• Governance: ensure reviews, configuration management and quality processes.
• Provide technical oversight across concept to production lifecycle.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align engineering with business goals.
