Job description

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Assistant Operations Manager to lead a small on‑site manufacturing team producing high‑performance components for demanding engineering customers. This hands‑on role is suited to someone who thrives in a fast‑paced, precision‑driven environment and has a strong track record of delivering operational excellence.

The Assistant Operations Manager – Motorsport Manufacturing will:

  • Lead, motivate, and manage a small operations team to deliver high‑quality products on time.
  • Oversee daily manufacturing activities including scheduling, workflow, and resource allocation.
  • Maintain and improve operational processes to drive efficiency, quality, and cost‑effectiveness.
  • Build strong customer relationships, ensuring requirements are clearly understood and consistently met.
  • Monitor key performance metrics, identify risks, and implement timely corrective actions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and operational performance.

The Assistant Operations Manager – Motorsport Manufacturing will have:

  • Proven experience within manufacturing operations management (motorsport, automotive, or precision engineering preferred)
  • Strong leadership experience managing small on‑site teams.
  • Excellent problem‑solving, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Good understanding of lean manufacturing, process optimisation, and quality systems.
  • Experience managing customer relationships in high‑pressure technical environments.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and regulatory compliance in manufacturing.
  • Experience with CNC machining, assembly, or motorsport component production.
  • Familiarity with motorsport industry standards and expectations.
