Job summary

Motion Applied is seeking a Principal Embedded Software Engineer to own the architecture of motorsport embedded systems and lead low-level code for F1, IndyCar and NASCAR series. You’ll guide product development and support Motorsport sales with technical insight.

You will mentor juniors, define solutions, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure requirements are met with first-principles engineering. An emphasis on MISRA C and safety-aware practices is expected.

Qualifications

• First class degree or upper 2nd in Engineering, Electronics, Mathematics, CS, or similar.
• Experience in C/C++ in embedded environments and microcontrollers.
• RTOS development experience (Integrity, FreeRTOS, RTEMS, VxWorks, Linux).
• Full lifecycle software development with Agile and V-model.
• Ability to solve problems from first principles; techniques for MISRA C.
• Experience presenting in design reviews and understanding hardware datasheets.

Responsibilities

• Define the technical architecture for embedded systems in motorsport products.
• Lead development across F1, IndyCar, NASCAR contracts; guide customers.
• Mentor junior engineers; manage own work and team output.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to shape proposals and bids.
• Overcome complex technical challenges with innovative solutions.
