Job summary

Stephenson College is seeking a skilled Motor Vehicle Workshop Technician (Instructor) to join the team at Loughborough College Group. The role focuses on delivering practical motor vehicle training, maintaining workshops and equipment, and supporting learners in developing industry-ready skills.

You will work with hybrid and EV technologies, mentor apprentices, and help create an up-to-date learning environment while ensuring safety and COSHH compliance.

Qualifications

• A Level 3 qualification in Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent automotive qualification.
• Relevant industry experience within the automotive sector.
• Experience using modern vehicle diagnostic equipment and software.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, diagnostics and fault finding.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• A passion for supporting and developing others.
• IMI Accreditation.
• Hybrid and Electric Vehicle qualifications.
• Experience mentoring apprentices or delivering technical training.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicles, components, specialist tools and diagnostic equipment for practical sessions.
• Support learners and lecturers during workshop activities, demonstrations and assessments.
• Maintain, service and repair workshop vehicles, equipment and training rigs.
• Ensure high standards of health and safety, COSHH compliance and workshop practice.
• Manage workshop consumables, stock and equipment.

Are you an experienced Motor Vehicle Workshop Technician looking to share your skills and expertise with the next generation?

At Loughborough College Group we are looking for a workshop technician to support the delivery of practical motor vehicle training, maintaining workshop facilities, vehicles, tools and diagnostic equipment while helping learners develop the skills needed for successful careers in the automotive industry.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking department and work with industry-standard equipment while supporting learners studying Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair based at Stephenson College.

As our Motor Vehicle Workshop Technician (Instructor), you will:
