Job summary

Loughborough College Group is seeking a Motor Vehicle Workshop Technician (Instructor) to support practical motor vehicle training at Stephenson College. You will prepare vehicles, tools and diagnostic gear for sessions, assist learners and staff, and maintain workshop facilities to industry standards.

The role requires an A Level 3 MV Maintenance qualification (or equivalent), relevant automotive experience, and strong knowledge of diagnostics, plus a passion for mentoring and developing

Qualifications

• A Level 3 qualification in Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent automotive qualification.
• Relevant industry experience within the automotive sector.
• Experience using modern vehicle diagnostic equipment and software.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, diagnostics and fault finding.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• A passion for supporting and developing others.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicles, components, specialist tools and diagnostic equipment for practical sessions.
• Support learners and lecturers during workshop activities, demonstrations and assessments.
• Maintain, service and repair workshop vehicles, equipment and training rigs.
• Ensure high standards of health and safety, COSHH compliance and workshop practice.
• Manage workshop consumables, stock and equipment.
• Help develop a modern and industry-relevant learning environment.
• Stay up to date with emerging technologies including Hybrid, Electric Vehicle and ADAS systems.
