Job summary

GET Staff seeking an Experienced Motor Vehicle Technician / Mechanic for their Reading site. Salary up to £50,000 with a typical range around £40,000–£50,000 depending on experience.

The role involves diagnosing, servicing, and repairing a wide variety of vehicles and preparing them for MOT testing, within a busy independent workshop. Candidates should hold NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) and be fully qualified Vehicle Technicians or MOT testers.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified Vehicle Technician or MOT Tester.
• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent).
• Desirable: current MOT tester license.
• Experience servicing and repairing cars and/or motor vehicles.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical diagnosis, service and repair of a wide variety of cars, light commercial vehicles and camper vans.

Motor Vehicle Technician / Mechanic Skills and Experience

• You should be a fully qualified Vehicle Technician or MOT Tester
• You should hold an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) qualification
• Desirable: current MOT tester license
• Proven experience servicing and repairing cars and / or other motor vehicles, whether in an independent garage or main dealer
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills, with a methodical approach to troubleshooting
