Job summary

Aka Recruitment is partnering with a respected independent workshop in Huddersfield to recruit a Vehicle Technician. The role offers Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm, with no weekend work and a competitive salary up to £45,000 plus training.

You will perform servicing, repairs and diagnostics on a range of makes, using manufacturer-approved equipment, and contribute to a busy workshop that values accuracy and safety. A UK driving licence and tools are required.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• MOT Licence would be beneficial but not essential.
• Previous experience as Vehicle Technician or Diagnostic Technician.
• Full UK Driving Licence with up to six penalty points.

Responsibilities

• Perform servicing, repairs and routine maintenance on a variety of vehicle makes and models.
• Diagnose faults using manufacturer-approved diagnostic equipment.
• Replace and repair components in line with manufacturer guidelines.
• Conduct vehicle inspections and health checks.
• Complete workshop paperwork accurately and on time.
• Maintain a clean and safe workshop environment.
• Work closely with colleagues to complete vehicles on schedule.

Job Duties Include:

• Perform servicing, repairs and routine maintenance on a variety of vehicle makes and models.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using manufacturer-approved diagnostic equipment.
• Replace and repair vehicle components in line with manufacturer guidelines.
• Conduct vehicle inspections and health checks, identifying any additional work required.
• Complete all repairs efficiently while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
• Undertake repairs including brakes, suspension, steering, clutches, timing belts and engine work.
• Complete all workshop paperwork accurately and within required timescales.
• Maintain workshop cleanliness and ensure equipment is kept in good working order.
• Follow company procedures and Health & Safety regulations at all times.
• Work closely with colleagues to ensure customer vehicles are completed on schedule.
• Consistently deliver excellent quality of work and contribute towards a productive workshop environment.

Requirements:

• NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• Previous experience working as a Vehicle Technician, Mechanic or Diagnostic Technician.
• MOT Licence would be beneficial but is by no means essential.
• Confident fault-finding and diagnostic abilities.
• Able to work independently while also contributing as part of a team.
• Own set of tools required.
• Full UK Driving Licence with a maximum of six penalty points.
• Reliable, professional approach with excellent attention to detail.
