Job summary

hireful is seeking an experienced Motor Vehicle/Motorsport lecturer for our Weybridge-based engineering faculty. You will deliver engaging theory and practical sessions, and guide students toward careers in automotive industries.

The role requires current industry knowledge, strong teaching skills and the ability to mentor learners, with a path to professional development and teaching qualifications.

Qualifications

  • Deliver engaging theory and practical-based learning across Motor Vehicle and Motorsport programmes.
  • Help learners develop technical and employability skills for automotive industry.
  • Provide constructive assessment and feedback, monitor achievement and support learners.
  • Act as a personal tutor and aid progression into employment or further study.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering engaging theory and practical-based learning across Motor Vehicle and Motorsport programmes
  • Helping learners develop the technical and employability skills expected by today's automotive industry
  • Providing constructive assessment and feedback, monitoring achievement and supporting learners
  • Acting as a personal tutor and helping learners plan their progression into employment, apprenticeships or further study
  • Working closely with employers and colleagues to ensure learning remains relevant to industry
  • Supporting curriculum development, quality processes, student recruitment and wider college activities

Job description

Are you an experienced Motor Vehicle or Motorsport lecturer looking for a new opportunity in a well-established Engineering Faculty? Do you have strong technical knowledge, current industry experience and the ability to deliver engaging vocational teaching?

This is an excellent opportunity to use your expertise to support students developing the practical skills and knowledge needed for careers across the automotive and motorsport industries.

Based in Weybridge, Surrey, this position is easily commutable from Walton-on-Thames, Addlestone, Chertsey, Byfleet, Cobham, Woking, Esher and surrounding areas.

Salary: up to £43,000 per annum depending on qualifications and experience | Full time, 37 hours per week.

You will ideally bring:
  • A Degree, HND or equivalent vocational/professional qualification
  • City & Guilds or IMI Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Procedures
  • Professional experience within the Motor Vehicle/Motorsport Industry
  • Knowledge of modern electric and hybrid vehicle technology.
  • Strong teaching and learner engagement skills, ideally within further education or vocational training
  • A teaching qualification, or the willingness to work towards one
