Job summary

We Are Zenith is seeking a dedicated motor vehicle educator to plan and deliver engaging lessons, assess student progress and develop industry-aligned learning materials.

The post holder will maintain a safe workshop, contribute to curriculum development and engage with employers to keep content relevant. A strong industry background and clear commitment to safeguarding are essential; a teaching qualification is desirable or a willingness to work towards one.

Qualifications

  • Qualifications in Motor Vehicle Engineering or Automotive Technology.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of automotive technologies.
  • Strong industry background in Motor Vehicle sector.
  • Excellent practical and technical skills in vehicle maintenance/repair.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to motivate and engage learners of varying abilities.
  • Effective organisational and administrative skills.
  • Desirable teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed) or willing to work towards one.
  • Enhanced DBS check is required.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and welfare of learners.

Job description

To deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across Motor Vehicle programmes, supporting students to develop the practical skills, technical knowledge and professional behaviours required for successful progression into the automotive industry. The post holder will contribute to curriculum development, student achievement, and the maintenance of a safe and engaging learning environment.


Key Responsibilities


  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons across Motor Vehicle programmes.

Person Specification


  • Relevant qualifications in Motor Vehicle Engineering, Automotive Technology, Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or a related discipline.

  • Strong industry background within the Motor Vehicle sector.

  • Previous teaching, training or assessing experience is desirable; however, applicants with significant and relevant industry experience will also be considered.

  • Up-to-date knowledge of the Motor Vehicle industry and current automotive technologies.

  • Excellent practical and technical skills within vehicle maintenance and repair.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to motivate, support and engage learners of varying abilities.

  • Effective organisational and administrative skills.

  • Commitment to delivering outstanding teaching and learning.

  • A recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, Certificate in Education or equivalent is desirable.

  • Candidates without a teaching qualification must be willing to work towards one where applicable.

  • Enhanced DBS check required.

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and vulnerable adults.
