Job summary

Weightmans, a leading national law firm, is recruiting a Paralegal to manage a caseload of recovery cases for the Motor Recoveries team in Liverpool. The role offers exposure to fast track and multi-track motor claims and requires you to review liability and quantum and progress cases to conclusion.

Ideally you will have experience with motor files, knowledge of CPR, and the ability to meet deadlines and work as part of a team, with strong communication and client service skills.

Qualifications

• Experience of handling/assisting a caseload of litigated motor files, within the small claims and fast track.
• Knowledge of CPR.
• Ability to work to meet deadlines and hit targets.
• Team player with own initiative and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage caseload effectively and efficiently.
• Initially review liability and quantum before devising a strategy for continued handling.
• Handle cases to conclusion including making P36 offers, issuing court proceedings and instructing Counsel.
• Complete client and firm MI procedures.
• Comply with client SLAs, e-manual and local claims handling requirements.
• Achieve set chargeable hours and financial targets.
• Comply with Data Protection Procedures.
