Job summary

Open is a London-based tech-driven insurer platform redefining motor insurance with a data- and AI-led approach. In this role, you will own the performance and evolution of our motor portfolio, expand the insurer panel, and press for better appetite and rates from partners to drive quotes customers actually want to buy.

You’ll report to the UK Country Manager and collaborate with Commercial, Product and Data teams to move quickly, push boundaries and deliver measurable improvements while staying

Qualifications

• Around five years or more in UK personal-lines motor, in portfolio management or underwriting.
• A good feel for what makes a motor book competitive and what drives conversion and how the panel, appetite and wholesale rates feed into that.
• The credibility to push insurer partners for better appetite and rates, and to onboard underwriters onto the panel.
• Experience shaping a roadmap across data, product or proposition, including data enrichment and new features.

Responsibilities

• Own how our motor portfolio performs today and where it goes next.
• Maintain quotability, competitiveness and conversion; plan improvements.
• Grow the insurer panel and onboard new insurers to close gaps.
• Run regular trading sessions with insurers to challenge appetite and rates.
• Decide data/enrichment roadmap priorities and order.
• Own add-ons and how they work for customers and us.
• Shape and launch new propositions like telematics and multi-car.
• Track metrics from quotability to loss ratio and use data to drive decisions.
• Collaborate with Commercial, Data, Product and Engineering teams to ship changes.
• Stay compliant with FCA rules on fair value.
