Northgate Vehicle Hire in Borehamwood is seeking a skilled Motor Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet, ensuring safety and compliance for hire. You will join a busy team and benefit from IMI-accredited training to upskill in Hybrid/EV repair, braking systems, electrics, tail lifts, and more.

Qualifications

• Level 2 qualified technician with at least 3 years' experience, or a fully qualified Level 3 technician/mechanic.
• Experience maintaining and repairing vehicles to keep them safe and legally compliant.
• Open to IMI accredited training in Hybrid/EV repair, braking systems, electrics, tail lifts.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair vehicles to ensure safety and compliance for hire.
• Diagnose faults and perform routine servicing as part of a busy workshop.
• Work with the team to deliver high-quality vehicle care and training opportunities.

42.5 hours / Day Shifts Only. As and when required overtime is available and this is paid at time and half.

About you

As a Vehicle Technician you are responsible for the maintenance and repair of our vehicles to ensure they are safe and legally compliant for our customers to hire. If you are Level 2 Qualified Technician with at least 3 years employment as a technician/mechanic or fully qualified Level 3 Technician / Mechanic, we would love to hear from you.

Set in the peaceful countryside, away from the hustle and bustle of industrial sites, this location offers a refreshing change of pace. While there’s nothing available within walking distance, Jeremy’s service station, just a 5-10 minute drive away, features a Greggs and provides a convenient stop. The team here is tight-knit, creating a great atmosphere where everyone works well together. Over the years, the team has been on an incredible journey, transforming the site into a go-to destination for customers and other teams seeking support with training and development. Their hard work has built a strong reputation.

We have our own internal IMI accredited training department, where we can upskill you on such things as Hybrid & EV vehicle repair, Tail lift, braking systems, electrics etc.

For those trained to Level 2, you can take a training needs analysis so we can build a personalised training program for you to increase your skillset.
