Job summary

MPJ Recruitment is seeking a Motor Claims Handler for a permanent role in Rochdale. You will manage insurer scheme claims from FNOL through to settlement, ensuring accurate records and adherence to SLAs.

The position is Monday to Friday, 9am–5:30pm, with hybrid working after probation. Excellent progression opportunities, pension contributions, holiday entitlement, and a performance-based bonus are on offer.

Qualifications

• 12+ months experience in motor claims handling
• Experience handling FNOL to settlement lifecycle
• Ability to maintain accurate claims records and comply with SLAs

Responsibilities

• Manage insurer scheme claims from FNOL through to settlement.
• Register and progress new claims efficiently and accurately.
• Handle enquiries from policyholders, insurers, solicitors, repairers and third parties.
• Maintain comprehensive records in line with SLAs and guidelines.
• Instruct engineers, arrange vehicle assessments, and liaise with recovery agents and solicitors as required.

MPJ Recruitment are proud to be working with a UK leading business based in the Rochdale area, we are looking for experienced motor claims handlers with 12+ months experience working in a similar role. Motor Claims Handler skills:

• Manage insurer scheme claims from first notification of loss (FNOL) through to settlement, providing a comprehensive cradle-to-grave claims handling service.
• Ensure all new claims are registered and progressed efficiently, accurately and in accordance with the insurer's agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Handle incoming enquiries from policyholders, insurers, solicitors, repairers and other third parties in a professional, helpful and timely manner.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive claims records, ensuring all data and correspondence is factually and grammatically correct and complies with agreed SLAs and insurer best-practice guidelines.
• Manage claims within the delegated authority provided by the insurer, including:
  • First Notification of Loss (FNOL)
  • Instructing engineers and arranging vehicle assessments
  • Instructing recovery agents and repairers
  • Liaising with and instructing solicitors where required
  • Managing claims through to an appropriate and timely resolution
• Ensure all claims activity is conducted in line with regulatory requirements, insurer procedures and company policies.
• Identify and escalation complex or high-value claims where they fall outside delegated authority or require further investigation.
• Undertake any other duties and responsibilities reasonably required by the business.
• Maintain a clean, organised and hazard-free working environment in accordance with company health and safety requirements.
