Job summary

Arnold Clark Group in Wigan is seeking an MOT Tester to join our Motorstore team. You will perform MOT tests to DVSA standards, identify defects, and maintain accurate inspection records while delivering excellent customer service.

You should hold Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance and DVSA Tester Certification, have a full UK driving licence, and be a team player who can work independently. We offer competitive pay (£40,000–£50,000 DOE), overtime, generous leave, EV training, and healthcare.

About the role

As an MOT Tester, you’ll be a key player in ensuring our customers' vehicles are safe and roadworthy. You’ll work with a skilled, motivated team in a dynamic environment, gaining hands‑on experience with a wide variety of makes and models. Plus, you'll stay ahead of the curve with the latest automotive technology!

Day-to-day duties

• Performing MOT tests in line with DVSA standards
• Identifying vehicle defects and failures
• Keeping up to date with current MOT testing guidelines and best practices
• Maintaining accurate documentation and records of inspectionsProviding exceptional customer service and technical advice

What we’re looking for:

• Qualified Technician – Minimum level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance certification (level 3 preferred)
• Experienced & Skilled – Solid background in an MOT testing role
• DVSA Tester Certification
• Team Player – Able to work efficiently alone or with colleagues
• Full UK Driving Licence
