Job description

Job Title: MOT Tester

We are recruiting for a MOT TESTER to join our client on a permanent basis. Immediate start and notice periods are considered.

About the Role

Your duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

1. Performing road tests for diagnosis of clients’ complaints and verification of repairs;
2. Performing other duties as assigned;
3. Working as part of a team with Service Advisors to communicate clients’ vehicle needs;
4. Attending manufacturer-specific training classes;
5. Conducting line technician services, routine inspections/maintenance, system diagnostics, and full automotive troubleshooting and testing;
6. Continuously expanding your knowledge of new technologies and practices;
7. Test-driving vehicles and testing components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment;
8. Executing repairs under warranty according to manufacturer specifications.

Candidate Requirements

• CV demonstrating strong mechanical, diagnostic, and electrical skills;
• Basic computer skills necessary to use factory software;
• Positive, friendly attitude with eagerness to learn;
• Dexterity and steady hand-eye coordination;
• Mechanical troubleshooting skills and ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment;
• B level qualifications, including Diagnostic, Electrical, and Engine Repair;
• Valid Driver’s License;
• Proof of eligibility to work in the UK (Passport or Birth Certificate with National Insurance number).
