We have an excellent opportunity for a friendly, dynamic, and confident MOT Tester / Mechanic to join the team at one of the UK's leading used car dealers based in Stevenage, Hertfordshire.

About the role

As an MOT Tester / Mechanic, your responsibilities will include:

1. Resolving straightforward problems and modifying work daily to suit without waiting for instruction.
2. Ensuring issues identified with vehicles are repaired as required to DVLA standards.
3. Using diagnostic equipment, practical skills, and experience to identify issues.
4. Preparing vehicles for and carrying out MOT tests.

About you

To be successful in this role, you must have:

1. NVQ 3 / City & Guilds Level 2 and 3 or equivalent.
2. MOT testing certificate, MOT Class 4 and 7.
3. Category B Driving License.
4. Significant experience as a competent mechanic.
5. Knowledge of working in a workshop environment.
6. Ability to complete all records and workshop paperwork accurately and promptly.
7. Knowledge of health and safety regulations, practices, and procedures.

Rewards and Working Hours

The role offers a salary of £28,000 to £35,000 per annum. Working hours are Monday to Friday (8:30 am - 5:30 pm) and every other Saturday (8:30 am - 12:30 pm).
