Perfect Placement is recruiting an MOT Technician for a reputable franchised main dealership in Southampton, Hampshire. This opportunity suits experienced motor trade professionals seeking progression in a supportive environment.

The role offers a competitive salary up to £34,000 depending on experience with an OTE around £39,000 through a structured bonus scheme. Typical hours are Mon-Fri 8:00–17:00 with one Saturday every two months and on-site parking.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence is required.
• MOT Tester qualification desired (Level 3 preferred; Level 2 with testing licence considered).
• NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent.
• Proven workshop experience with solid technical skills.
• Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and dedicated to delivering excellent customer service.
• Commitment to continuous development within the automotive industry.

Responsibilities

• Conduct vehicle repairs and routine servicing to manufacturer standards.
• Perform MOT testing (Level 3 preferred; Level 2 with testing licence considered).
• Diagnose faults and carry out necessary repairs.
• Communicate effectively with customers about issues and progress.
• Mentor junior technicians within the workshop.
• Maintain health and safety standards in the workshop.
• Engage in ongoing technical training to stay updated.

We are currently recruiting for an MOT Technician on behalf of our client, a reputable franchised main dealership in Southampton, Hampshire. This is an excellent MOT Technician opportunity for experienced motor trade professionals seeking career progression within a supportive and professional environment.

• Monday to Friday working hours, 8:00am to 5:00pm
• One Saturday every two months, 8:30am to 12:30pm

Duties of an MOT Technician:

• Conducting vehicle repairs and routine servicing in accordance with manufacturer standards
• Carrying out MOT testing (Level 3 qualification preferred; Level 2 individuals with testing licence considered)
• Diagnosing faults accurately and performing necessary repairs
• Communicating effectively with customers regarding vehicle issues and repair progress
• Supporting and mentoring Junior Technicians within the workshop
• Maintaining health and safety standards to ensure a safe working environment
• Participating in ongoing technical training to stay abreast of vehicle technology developments

Requirements of an MOT Technician:
