Job summary

St Paul’s CofE Primary School in Dorking is seeking a warm, reliable Breakfast Club Assistant to join our wraparound care team. You will help provide a nutritious breakfast, supervise children aged 4–11, and support a smooth start to the school day.

The role is initially Monday and Tuesday mornings 7.30am–8.45am during term time, with potential to increase days as numbers grow. Salary is £24,644 FTE, pro-rata to hours.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children aged 4-11 in childcare or education.
• Friendly, patient and approachable demeanor with a can-do attitude.
• Ability to work well in a small, supportive team.
• Understanding of safeguarding, health and safety, and food hygiene (or willingness to train).

Responsibilities

• Prepare, serve and clear away breakfast items in a clean, hygienic environment, following food safety guidelines.
• Supervise and engage with children from Reception through to Year 6 during breakfast and play activities, inside and outside.
• Organise and lead age-appropriate indoor games, crafts and social activities.
• Encourage positive behaviour, good manners and social interaction.
• Ensure safety, health and emotional wellbeing of all pupils, adhering to safeguarding policies.
• Assist with basic setup, clear-down and record-keeping (e.g., register).
