Job summary

Amentum is recruiting a Monte Carlo methods developer to join a cutting‑edge team working on radiation transport and reactor physics. You will develop and maintain state‑of‑the‑art computational analysis codes, perform complex analyses, and deliver technical training across nuclear, medical and space shielding domains.

The role supports Dorchester or Warrington offices with travel to client sites and conferences; some home/remote working and flexible hours are available to suit project needs.

Qualifications

• Experience applying Monte Carlo methods to modelling radiation transport is essential.
• Strong mathematical/physical theory and implementation in computational modelling software.
• Programming skills in Fortran, Python or Java are required.

Responsibilities

• Code development for radiation transport and reactor physics codes.
• Develop underpinning theories and implement them in code.
• Conduct complex radiation transport analyses.
• Deliver technical training to specialist audiences.
• Collaborate with teams to refine models and simulations.
• Present results at technical meetings and conferences.
