Job summary

The University of Edinburgh is recruiting a KTP Associate in Molecular Modelling and Biochar Fertiliser Design for a 30-month Knowledge Transfer Partnership with Black Bull Biochar Ltd.

You will lead modelling and model-guided formulation for a new generation of biochar-based fertilisers for cereal crops, blending computational chemistry, soil chemistry, materials characterisation and product development to derive actionable guidelines for barley and wheat prototypes.

Qualifications

• PhD in computational chemistry, materials chemistry, environmental chemistry or related field.
• Strong experience in molecular modelling and reproducible data analysis.
• Knowledge of HPC resources and molecular simulation tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead molecular modelling and model-guided formulation work for biochar fertilisers.
• Translate computational results into practical formulation rules for cereal crops.
• Collaborate with industry partner and university researchers on project development.
