The University of Edinburgh is seeking a KTP Associate in Molecular Modelling and Biochar Fertiliser Design for a 30‑month Knowledge Transfer Partnership with Black Bull Biochar Ltd. You will lead modelling, soil chemistry, and formulation work translating molecular understanding into crop fertiliser prototypes.

The role combines computational chemistry, materials characterisation, and product development, with hybrid work considered where feasible.

Qualifications

• PhD required in a relevant chemistry/engineering field.
• Strong experience in molecular modelling and computational chemistry.
• Ability to translate computational results into practical formulation decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead molecular modelling and model-guided formulation for biochar–fertiliser products.
• Translate molecular-level understanding into practical formulation rules for crops.
• Collaborate with university researchers and industry partners to deliver the project.
