Job summary

Sherlock Biosciences, based in Cambridge and Oxford, UK, seeks a Research Associate, Assay Development to support rapid nucleic acid amplification-based diagnostic assays. You will perform defined molecular biology and analytical activities under supervision, contributing to feasibility, verification, validation and transfer in a regulated setting.

The role is suitable for early-career scientists, with training provided and opportunities to assume increasing responsibility.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in molecular biology or related discipline with practical wet-lab experience.
Master's degree or higher with experience in regulated environments is desirable.
Experience with molecular diagnostics or clinical research is a plus.

Responsibilities

Conduct defined molecular biology and wet-lab experiments per approved protocols and instructions.
Perform assay-development activities including PCR, RT-PCR, and nucleic acid handling.
Prepare, label, store and manage reagents, samples and consumables with proper controls.
Support assay feasibility, optimization, verification, validation and transfer under supervision.
