Genetic Signatures in Newtown, United Kingdom, is seeking an Automation Specialist to integrate their proprietary molecular diagnostic technology into automated workflows, enabling scalable, high-quality solutions that support improved patient outcomes.

In this role you will develop scripts for liquid handling, support tools for results analysis, and work with Development, Validation and Technical Support to improve workflows and automation systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Biomedical Engineering or a related field
• Experience writing and testing code for scientific or automated systems
• Exposure to liquid handling systems or laboratory instrumentation (desirable)
• Knowledge of programming languages (e.g. VB, C++, JSON, XAML) is advantageous
• Understanding of software development compliance and documentation standards is beneficial

Responsibilities

• Developing and testing scripts for liquid handling systems to support automated workflows
• Modifying and optimising existing scripts and processes based on business and customer needs
• Supporting development of software tools for results analysis and workflow integration
• Documenting all development activities in accordance with quality and regulatory requirements
• Providing internal training and technical support on workflows and associated programs
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams including Development, Validation and Technical Support
• Testing new equipment and software as required
• Contributing to continuous improvement of automation processes and workflows
