Job summary

Viasat is seeking a Data Engineer to join the Mobility Data Products team. You will design and deploy data pipelines, enabling real time data processing and AI-driven insights from internal and external sources.

You will collaborate with Data Engineers, Software Engineers, and Data Scientists to build scalable, reliable tools and to support on-call rotations. A strong foundation in Python, SQL, and cloud platforms is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and strong coding fundamentals.
• Foundational Python and SQL skills with data manipulation ability.
• Experience with AI-assisted coding tools and cloud platforms (GCP).
• Familiarity with SDLC, source control, and CI/CD practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, deploy, and operate data solutions for structured and unstructured data.
• Develop tools to cleanse, organize, and transform data in real time.
• Create reliable, scalable, and maintainable data processing pipelines.
• Collaborate with data engineers, software engineers, and data scientists.
• Provide on-call support and communicate with remote teams regularly.
• Document technical designs and data processes clearly.
