Job summary

Recruitment Helpline Ltd in Bristol is looking for a Dual-Role Mobile Vehicle Technician / Technical Service Controller. The role combines hands-on servicing and on-road support with office-based administration to help run the service operation smoothly.

Based mainly at Kingswood, the role offers a Monday to Friday pattern with no weekends, a salary of £38,000 per year, and the chance to lead and train mobile technicians while delivering quality service to our fleet customers.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent).
• Experience in diagnostic repairs and fault finding.
• Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• Full UK driving licence; aged 24 or over for insurance.

Responsibilities

• Act as a key link between customers, the service team and mobile technicians, ensuring all work in progress is effectively monitored and communicated.
• Advise customers on required repairs, routine maintenance and recommended service schedules.
• Provide customer updates, obtain authorisation for additional work and resolve queries to deliver an excellent customer experience.
• Source and order parts while liaising with suppliers to secure the best pricing and availability.
• Provide technical guidance and support to mobile technicians and the service team, acting as the primary point of contact for technical queries.
• Travel to customer sites to carry out routine servicing, maintenance and repairs on cars and light commercial vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair vehicle faults using diagnostic equipment.
• Ensure all work is completed to a high professional industry standard.
• Work in a safe, clean and responsible manner.
• Lead, train, develop and assist mobile technicians where required.
• Conduct onsite quality inspections to ensure company standards are maintained.
• Assist with improving procedures and systems by making recommendations for continuous improvement.
