Job summary

The RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division, covering a Nottingham cluster area. You will work on a pre-booked schedule, performing routine servicing, diagnostics, and in-depth repairs using mobile equipment. A full UK driving licence and Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance are essential.

Expect a 40-hour week with core hours and occasional Saturdays, plus a comprehensive benefits package and earnings potential up to £52,000 OTE.

Join the RAC as a Mobile Vehicle Technician inour SMR Division - a new era of mobile repair.

• Acompetitive base salary of £40,170, with on-target earnings of up to£52,000

• 40hours per week, with core hours from8:30 am to 5:00 pm, and 1 in 4Saturdays.

Where you’ll work

You’ll be part of the Nottingham cluster, covering areas like Nottingham, Beeston, West Bridgford, Arnold, Hucknall, Long Eaton. You’ll be out on the road in your local area, working through a clearly planned schedule of appointments - no reactive callouts, just organised, pre‑booked work where you can focus on doing the job properly.

The RAC is known for roadside rescue - but this isn’t that.
Our Service, Maintenance & Repair (SMR) division is a newer, fast-growing part of the RAC, built to deliver planned, structured repair and servicing directly to members - from their driveway to their workplace car park.
There are no emergency callouts, no unpredictable shift patterns and no roadside recoveries.
Instead, you’ll work through a scheduled list of jobs, with the time, tools and support you need to do quality work.

Your day starts with a clear digital schedule. Each job is pre‑booked, with the member expecting you.
