Job summary

Halfords Group PLC is seeking Mobile Tyre Technicians to provide tyre services at customers' locations. You will load the van, plan routes, and perform booked tyre repairs and fittings while upholding high safety standards.

Working 44 hours per week, with shifts from 08:30–17:30 Monday–Friday and Saturday mornings. A van and tools are provided. The role will relocate from Chelmsford to a new Brentwood site in the near future.

Qualifications

• Experience removing, repairing and fitting tyres in a workshop or on the road.
• Strong customer-facing service and communication skills.
• Ability to manage and plan workload and act on own initiative.
• Full driving licence held for a minimum of 12 months with no more than 6 points.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety regulations and practices.

Responsibilities

• Deliver booked tyre services at customers' homes or workplaces.
• Load van with stock, plan routes and manage daily bookings.
• Drive professionally to sites, following safety standards.
• Maintain and safeguard the National Mobile van and equipment.

This role is currently based at our Chelmsford site. However, it will soon be relocating to our new site in Brentwood.

Our Mobile Tyre Technicians use their expertise to deliver a fantastic customer experience in the field. Receiving bookings through an electronic device you’ll order and collect stock from your base location, load the van and plan your route. Driving to customers’ homes or workplaces you’ll carry out booked jobs, working to the highest technical and safety standards.

You’ll be responsible for the safe keeping - and driving - of the National Mobile van and all equipment, and will have:

• Experience of removing, repairing and fitting tyres, gained either in a garage or on the road
• Experience of providing great face to face customer service
• The ability to manage and plan your work load, act on your own initiative and identify the best way forward
• A full driving licence held for a minimum of 12 months with no more than 6 points
• An understanding of Health & Safety regulations and practices.

This role is full time, 44 hours per week, working weekdays 08:30 - 17:30 with a 1 hour unpaid break and Saturday - 08:30 - 12:30. A van and tools are provided for use during shifts and during the one hour call-out period either side of each shift.
