Job summary

Mobile Support Workers are needed to work in a Care Home, Care at Home, or Supported Living services focusing on Mental Health. A full driving licence and access to a car are required.

You will support service users and collaborate with the Team Leaders to maintain high care standards in line with professional guidelines. You will assist with daily living tasks, help achieve individual outcomes, and participate in person-centred reviews every six months.

Qualifications

  • SVQ2 in care required with willingness to complete SVQ3 within a specified time.
  • Relevant experience in a care-related field or personal experience is valued.
  • Demonstrates inclusion, commitment to continuous improvement, and person-centred practice.

Responsibilities

  • Develop support plans with service users.
  • Support service users to achieve individual outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate, concise, timely records of support provided.
  • Report accidents, incidents and medication errors to supervisor.
  • Attend supervision, staff meetings and training as required.
  • Undertake other reasonable duties to support the service.

Job description

I am looking for Mobile Support Workers to work in a Care Home/ Care at Home/ Supported Living Services in Mental Health. You will need a full driving licence and access to a car.

You will assist the Team Leader/ Deputy Team Leader/ Manager in maintaining professional standards of care and the provision of high quality support which aims to achieve positive outcomes for people.

You will provide day-to-day service delivery of care and support. You will work in partnership with people who use the service, encouraging choice, participation and motivation whilst adhering at all times to the values of my client's Mental Health Association. and Scottish Social Services Council Codes of Practice.

You will provide assistance with daily living tasks, including but not limited to: shopping, cleaning, personal care and other tasks as directed in the support plan and to help achieve individual outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • To develop support plans with people who use the service (Service Users).
  • To support Service Users with individual outcomes while working to the requirements of the support plan.
  • To participate in making a contribution to 6 monthly (minimum) person centred reviews with Service Users.
  • To implement are systems, policies and procedures to achieve, monitor and maintain high standards within the service.
  • To maintain accurate, concise and timely recording of support provided, also maintaining a professional approach at all times.
  • To ensure accidents and incidents, also medication errors are reported to your supervisor/ Team Leader/ Manager.
  • To be aware of the safety of service users and the Adult Support and Protection Policy and Procedure.
  • To be aware of the general condition and well being of each Service User and to make appropriate referrals to other professionals/ agencies.
  • To contribute to effective communications with Service Users, their relatives, professionals and other members of staff.
  • To comply with all Health and Safety policies and procedures.
  • To attend supervisions, staff meetings and training courses as required.
  • To ensure participation in developing your working practice and also ensuring individual needs are met to a high standard.
  • To be responsible for maintaining and improving own knowledge and skills through experience, learning and development opportunities, training and annual appraisal.
  • To undertake any other reasonable duties requested.
Required Candidate Skills and Experience:

Experience: Relevant experience in a related field or personal experience.

Education, Qualifications and Training: SVQ level 2 in care also willing and able to complete SVQ level 3 within a specified time.

Value base: A belief in inclusion, evidenced through work practice or personal experience. A desire to ensure people are at the heart of decision making. Commitment to the principles and practices of continuous improvement.

Skills, Abilities and Knowledge: Good personal organisation skills. Able to contribute to written records. Ability to reflect on practice.

Interpersonal and Social Skills: Good verbal and non-verbal communication skills. Observe standards of dress code appropriate to the post. To be honest, reliable and sensitive to the needs of others.
