Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment is seeking a Field Service Engineer (CAP/LOLER) in Basildon to service and inspect access equipment across the UK. The role blends workshop-based repairs with on-site LOLER examinations and travel to client sites.

Ideal candidates hold CAP and IPAF certifications, with willingness to lodge when travelling. The package includes a salary of £40,000–£45,000 with £55,000 OTE, van for private use, fuel card, and training.

Qualifications

• Good written and verbal communication for client reporting.

Responsibilities

• Complete LOLER examinations on customer sites across the UK.
• Service and refurbish access equipment (scissor lifts, booms, platforms).
• Carry out pre-delivery inspections and on-site servicing/repairs.
• Document progress reports and communicate with customers clearly.
• Work Monday to Friday 08:00–17:30 with occasional on-call travel.

Are you a CAP Certified Engineer, or similar looking for a varied new role working within a rapidly growing company that offer excellent remuneration and additional training?

This company are access platforms specialists that have been established for over three decades. Providing expertise in modern access machinery that are designed for confined spaces and weight restricted areas - providing unique solutions to their expanding client list.

This role is a blend of workshop based repairs and refurbishments as well as on-site LOLER examinations and repairs. With most of the work based around London and the home counties, but other clients all over the UK, this role will occasionally require extensive travel and lodging.

The suitable candidate will be CAP Certified and have proven experience in a similar role. It is also essential that the right candidate has accurate written and verbal skills to successfully complete all relevant paperwork and communicate professionally to clients in this customer facing role.

The Role

• Complete LOLER examinations on customer sites around the UK
• Service and refurbish Access Equipment such as Scissor Lifts, Booms, Specialist Narrow Access Platforms and Spider Lifts
• Pre Delivery product inspections
• Outside customer LOLER inspections, servicing and repairs
• Completion of all relevant paper work through effective written communication and give accurate progress reports to customers through confident verbal communication
• Monday to Friday 08:00 - 17:30 with call out for one week of the month (additional remuneration included)
