Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking an Area Relief Officer to maintain a safe, secure and welcoming environment across a group of court and tribunal sites near Oxford. You will oversee access control, monitor activity and respond to incidents, supporting visitors, staff and service users with professionalism.

This 40-hour-per-week, Monday-to-Friday daytime role offers flexibility to cover nearby sites and deliver high security and customer service in the Courts & Tribunals Service.

Qualifications

• Must have Right to Work in the UK and ability to pass an enhanced DBS and BS7858 security clearance.
• A valid SIA Licence and relevant security experience
• Full UK driving licence and use of own vehicle
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• A professional, reliable and detail‑focused approach
• Ability to work across multiple locations and adapt to changing priorities
• Good understanding of security procedures and health & safety practices
• Ability to remain calm and respond effectively in challenging situations

Responsibilities

• Oversee access control across multiple court and tribunal sites within a defined radius of Oxford.
• Monitor activity and respond to incidents to ensure safety and security.
• Support visitors, staff and service users in a professional, respectful manner.
• Collaborate with colleagues and the wider court service to deliver high security and customer service standards.
