Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking a Mobile Security Officer to support West Sussex Courts across a defined radius. You will oversee access control, respond to incidents, and ensure a safe, welcoming environment for court users and staff.

The role is 40 hours per week, Mon-Fri, daytime across multiple sites with no night shifts. A valid SIA licence, enhanced DBS, and a full UK driving licence are required.

Qualifications

• Must have Right to Work in the UK and pass an enhanced DBS and BS7858 security clearance.
• SIA Licence is mandatory and relevant security experience preferred.
• Full UK driving licence and use of own vehicle.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work across multiple locations and adapt to shifting priorities.

Responsibilities

• Control access to buildings and monitor activity across sites.
• Respond to incidents and security concerns in a timely, professional manner.
• Operate security equipment including CCTV, x‑ray machines and handheld detectors.
• Conduct searches in line with site procedures and report all incidents.
• Provide a welcoming and professional service to court users and staff.
• Maintain high standards of professionalism and compliance at all times.
