Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking a flexible Relief Catering Manager to cover chef and manager shifts across Hull, Lincoln, Newcastle, Coventry, Birmingham and Warwick. You will lead catering operations, ensure high standards of food safety and service, and support rostering and new menu rollouts.

With experience in multi-site catering and strong people management, you will drive customer satisfaction, compliance, and cost control while maintaining a positive, inclusive working environment.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising or managing catering operations.
• Strong understanding of food hygiene, allergen management, and health & safety.
• Excellent communication and people-management skills.
• Ability to work flexibly across multiple sites.
• Level 2 Food Safety (minimum).

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day catering operations across designated sites within scope.
• Maintain high standards of food production, presentation and hygiene.
• Ensure service continuity during staff shortages or manager absences.
• Oversee stock control, ordering, and supplier relationships.
• Support implementation of new menus, systems or procedures.
• Lead, motivate, and train catering teams during relief placements.
• Assist with rota management and staffing allocation.
• Ensure compliance with food safety legislation and HACCP documentation.
• Deliver excellent customer service across sites and respond to feedback.
• Assist with budget management, cost control and waste reduction.
