Job summary

Iceland Foods is seeking a Refrigeration Engineer to maintain and repair refrigeration equipment across designated stores, ensuring systems stay reliable, compliant and performing at peak levels.

You will diagnose faults using your expertise and remote monitoring platforms, carry out planned and reactive maintenance, work with store colleagues to keep disruption to a minimum and ensure all work complies with F-Gas and Health & Safety standards.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2/3 in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning or equivalent experience.
• F-Gas Category 1 certification.
• Strong refrigeration fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Electrical and mechanical maintenance knowledge.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to work independently with a strong customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair refrigeration assets including display cabinets, freezers, cold rooms, refrigeration packs, condensers and chillers.
• Diagnose faults using engineering expertise and remote monitoring platforms (RDM, Monika).
• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance to minimise downtime.
• Collaborate with store colleagues to minimise disruption and ensure service quality.
• Ensure compliance with F-Gas and Health & Safety standards.
• Complete digital reports and maintain compliance records.

As a Refrigeration Engineer, you'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing refrigeration equipment across your designated stores, ensuring our systems remain reliable, compliant and operating at peak performance. You'll:

• Maintain and repair refrigeration assets including display cabinets, freezers, cold rooms, refrigeration packs, condensers and chillers.
• Diagnose faults using both your engineering expertise and remote monitoring platforms such as RDM and Monika.
• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance efficiently to minimise downtime.
• Work closely with store colleagues to deliver excellent service and keep disruption to a minimum.
• Ensure all work complies with F-Gas requirements and Health & Safety standards.
• Complete digital reports and maintain accurate compliance records.

A Role With Real Autonomy - This isn't a role where every minute of your day is managed for you. Our engineers are trusted to:

• Plan and prioritise their own workload.
• Organise routes efficiently.
• Utilise remote diagnostic systems before arriving on site.
• Manage van stock and parts effectively.
• Make decisions that keep stores trading and customers served.

Essential:
