Job summary

Neos Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Mobile Plant / Pump Engineer to join our team in Birmingham. The role covers servicing and repairing a range of mobile plant and pumping equipment, both in workshop and on customer sites.

You will diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults, perform preventative maintenance, and ensure high safety and quality standards while liaising with customers on-site.

Qualifications

• Experience as Mobile Plant Engineer or similar (Mobile Plant / Pump Engineer role).
• Strong mechanical engineering and fault-finding skills.
• Experience on mobile plant and pumping equipment highly desirable.
• Good understanding of hydraulic systems.
• Electrical and diagnostic experience would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on a range of mobile plant.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
• Work on pumps and pumping equipment with strong pump experience preferred.
• Attend customer sites for breakdown repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Complete inspections and planned maintenance to minimise downtime.
• Use diagnostic equipment and technical information to identify faults.
• Complete service reports and maintain accurate records of work.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and to a high standard.
• Liaise with customers and provide professional technical on-site support.

Mobile Plant / Pump Engineer

Location: Birmingham

Salary: £38,000 - £41,000 per annum

The Opportunity

We're urgently recruiting for an experienced Mobile Plant Engineer to join a growing engineering team covering the Birmingham area.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a mechanically strong engineer with experience working on mobile plant and pumping equipment. Candidates with intensive pump experience are particularly encouraged to apply.

You'll be responsible for keeping a range of plant and equipment operational, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance both in the workshop and on customer sites.

The Role

• Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs on a range of mobile plant.
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
• Working on pumps and associated equipment, with strong pump experience highly desirable.
• Attending customer sites to carry out breakdown repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Completing inspections and planned maintenance to minimise equipment downtime.
• Using diagnostic equipment and technical information to identify faults.
• Completing service reports and maintaining accurate records of work undertaken.
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard.
• Liaising with customers and providing professional technical support on site.

About You

• Previous experience as a Mobile Plant Engineer, Plant Fitter, Field Service Engineer or similar.
• Strong mechanical engineering and fault-finding skills.
• Experience working on mobile plant and machinery.
• Pump experience is highly desirable, particularly candidates who have worked extensively with pumping equipment.
• Good understanding of hydraulic systems.
• Electrical and diagnostic experience would be advantageous.
• Ability to work independently and manage a mobile workload.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Experience with dewatering pumps, diesel-driven pumps, submersible pumps, water pumps or associated pumping systems would be particularly beneficial.
