Royal Mail P&FS are now recruiting for a Mobile Plumber covering the CR / DA / BR / ME and SE postcode areas

Job reference number: 323005

Salary: £33,800.41 to £37,570.35 per annum, dependent on skills and experience, plus a London allowance of £3,202.24 per annum.

22.5 days annual leave, increasing to 25 days after 5 years of service, plus bank holidays.

Contract Type: Permanent, Full-time, 37 hours 30 minutes per week (excluding meal breaks). Typical hours are 08:00 to 16:00, Monday to Friday, with flexibility required.

Potential to join an out-of-hours callout rota in the future.

You will need a flexible approach and willingness to travel within a designated geographical area. A vehicle will be provided for travel. Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential to discuss work and progress with customers and managers.

Key responsibilities include:

• Carrying out plumbing maintenance and repairs, both planned and reactive, on various commercial sites.
• Working on drainage systems, including unblocking and repairing foul drainage pipes.
• Performing basic plumbing tasks such as replacing taps, sinks, cistern components, and copper pipework repairs.
• Providing technical advice and making judgments to complete work efficiently, ensuring quality, cost, and time objectives are met.
• Offering guidance to colleagues and customers to resolve issues.
• Managing corrective and planned maintenance to meet contractual performance standards.
• Liaising with customer representatives to ensure requirements are met.
• Completing all necessary paperwork accurately.
• Acting as a safety role model and maintaining a professional image.
• Managing customer relationships and ensuring clear communication.

About you:

• Formal trade qualification in Plumbing (C&G or equivalent preferred).
• At least 1 year of plumbing experience.
• CSCS card (preferred).
• Effective communication skills, especially explaining technical issues to customers.
• Experience working in a commercial environment with customers.
• Valid UK driving license with no endorsements preferred, as travel within a specified area is required.
• Computer literacy skills are an advantage.
