Royal Mail P&FS are now recruiting for a Mobile Plumber covering the CR / DA / BR / ME and SE post code areas

Job reference number 323005

Salary: £33,800.41 to £37,570.35 per annum depending on skills and experience, plus a London allowance of £3,202.24 per annum.

22.5 days annual leave, increasing to 25 after 5 years’ service, plus bank holidays.

Contract Type: Permanent, Full-time, 37 hours 30 minutes per week (excluding meal breaks). Typical hours are 08:00 to 16:00, Monday to Friday, with flexibility required.

Potential to join an out-of-hours callout rota in the future.

You will need a flexible approach to work and be willing to travel to different sites within a specified geographical area. A vehicle will be provided for travel. You should have excellent communication and organizational skills, and be able to discuss work and progress with customers and managers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out plumbing maintenance and repairs, both planned and reactive, on various commercial sites.
  • Working on drainage systems, including unblocking and repairing foul drainage pipes.
  • Performing basic plumbing tasks such as replacing taps, sinks, cisterns, and copper pipework repairs.
  • Providing technical advice and guidance to colleagues and customers.
  • Managing the delivery of maintenance tasks to meet contract performance measures.
  • Liaising with customer representatives to ensure requirements are met.
  • Completing all necessary paperwork accurately.
  • Ensuring safety standards are maintained and acting as a role model.
  • Managing customer relationships and projecting a positive professional image of Royal Mail P&FS.

About you:

  • Formal trade qualification in Plumbing (C&G or equivalent preferred).
  • At least 1 year of plumbing experience.
  • CSCS card preferred.
  • Effective communication skills, especially explaining technical issues.
  • Experience dealing with customers in a commercial environment.
  • Valid UK driving license with no endorsements preferred, as travel within a geographical area is required.
  • Computer literacy is an advantage.
