Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals UK & Ireland is seeking a technician to join our growing construction division, focusing on planned servicing and preventive maintenance of mobile plant equipment across customer sites. The role does not cover breakdowns or repairs; instead the emphasis is keeping machinery compliant, safe, and operating efficiently through scheduled maintenance.

You will perform servicing, inspections, fluid changes, document work, and maintain safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience servicing or maintaining mobile/heavy plant machinery.
• Strong mechanical understanding of diesel engines and hydraulics.
• Ability to follow service schedules, checklists and maintenance procedures.
• Full UK driving licence (essential).
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive safety approach.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned servicing and preventative maintenance on mobile plant machinery.
• Complete routine inspections, checks, and fluid changes.
• Identify and report potential issues or wear for further action.
• Complete service documentation accurately and on time.
• Ensure all work adheres to safety standards and procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of company vehicle, tools and equipment.
• Provide a professional and customer-focused on-site presence.
• Ensure equipment is maintained to high standards of cleanliness, functionality and compliance.
