Qualifications

• IMI/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Plant Machinery Maintenance & Repair.
• Several years’ practical experience post-qualification.
• Full UK driving licence for machinery and vehicle classes.
• Willingness to travel due to the mobile nature of the role.

Responsibilities

• Perform major and minor repairs on plant machinery at customer sites and dealer locations.
• Carry out PDI works and attachment setup on plant machinery.
• Conduct mobile repair and maintenance tasks.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Maintain inventory and cleanliness of the service vehicle.
• Collaborate with sales and repair teams to ensure quality and reliable service delivery.
• Diagnose machine issues, plan repairs, and maintain accurate records.
• Complete necessary documentation, including warranty claims.
• Provide in-house training to trainees and new recruits.
• Uphold health, safety, and compliance standards at all times.

Requirements of the Mobile Plant Technician:

• Qualified to IMI/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Plant Machinery Maintenance & Repair
• Several years’ practical experience post-qualification
• Full UK driving licence for machinery and vehicle classes
• Flexibility regarding location and working hours due to the mobile nature of the role
• Ideally based near Swindon or Gloucester
• Highly motivated, reliable, and capable of working independently
• Able to produce high-quality work, communicate effectively, and work towards targets
