Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a technician to join our mobile plant maintenance team based in Oldham. The role focuses on planned servicing and preventative maintenance to keep equipment compliant, safe and operating efficiently on customer sites.

You will follow service schedules, complete inspections and documentation, and maintain a professional, on-site presence with a strong emphasis on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Experience working with mobile or heavy plant machinery in a servicing or maintenance capacity.
• Good mechanical understanding of diesel engines and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to follow service schedules, checklists, and maintenance procedures.
• Comfortable working independently in a mobile role.
• Full UK driving licence (essential).
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to safety.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned servicing and preventative maintenance on mobile plant machinery.
• Complete routine inspections, checks, and fluid changes.
• Identify and report potential issues or wear for further action.
• Complete service documentation accurately and on time.
• Ensure all work is carried out in line with safety standards and procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of company vehicle, tools, and equipment.
• Provide a professional and customer‑focused on‑site presence.
• Ensuring all equipment is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, functionality and compliance.

About The Role

Are you ready to be a part of our rapidly developing construction division? We are looking for a talented technician to join our team to ensure our plant equipment is maintained to the highest standard whilst consistently meeting or exceeding customer expectations.

This role isdedicated solely to the planned servicing and preventative maintenance ofmobile plant equipment across customer sites.

This position doesnot include breakdowns or repair work. The focus is on keeping machinerycompliant, safe, and operating efficiently through scheduled maintenanceactivities.

What will you be doing?
