Job summary

S. Norton & Co in Long Marston, Warwickshire, is seeking a Mobile Plant Operator to load and unload materials, feed shears and balers, and move items into stockpiles. You may operate 360 material handlers and wheel loaders as needed in the metal recycling environment.

The ideal candidate will have a proven record with heavy mobile plant, a full clean driving license, and the ability to work safely in a team. Training and PPE will be provided where required.

Qualifications

• Proven track record of working in a comparable role.
• Proven ability to drive heavy mobile plant.
• Full clean driving license.
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in relevant subject.
• Good literacy and numeracy skills.

Responsibilities

• Move and load materials, including in confined spaces.
• Feed the shears and balers as required.
• Load and unload materials from heavy goods vehicles.
• Carry out daily machine start-up and checks.
• Complete machine checklists and report issues to management.
• Adhere to safety procedures and company policies.
