Job summary

Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for a Mobile Plant Operative to join Veolia on an initial 3-month temporary contract. This is a full-time role working 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

The successful candidate will monitor the weighbridge, operate plant and assist with routine maintenance, ensuring compliance with site permits and odour management plans. Experience in the waste industry and a forklift licence are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Experience in the waste industry would be an advantage.
• Forklift licence would be desirable.
• Strong organisational and time management skills with a good team ethic.

Responsibilities

• Monitor weighbridge and maintain general housekeeping.
• Undertake mechanical transfer of waste for onward transport.
• Operate mobile and fixed plant per training and policy.
• Ensure compliance with site permit and odour management plan.
• Routine maintenance and logging of defects and machine hours.
• Inspect incoming loads for paperwork and site permit compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the frontline operative duties including monitoring the weighbridge and general housekeeping.
• Undertaking the mechanical transfer of waste for onward transportation.
• Operating all mobile and fixed plant that you are trained on inline with company policy.
• Ensuring compliance with site permit/odour management plan
• Routine maintenance and cleaning of plant machinery with logging of defects and machine hours accordingly.
• Inspect incoming loads to ensure they comply with the relevant paperwork and site permit.

Essential Requirements

• Experience in the waste industry would be an advantage.
