Job summary

Plant and Equipment Hire Business in Southampton and surrounding areas is looking for a Mobile Plant Engineer to service, maintain and repair a range of plant and construction equipment, onsite at customer sites and depots. You will diagnose faults, carry out repairs and ensure equipment remains safe and ready for hire.

Qualifications

• Experience as Plant Engineer, Plant Fitter or Field Service Engineer.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on plant and construction equipment.
• Attend breakdowns at customer sites and depots.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
• Carry out preventative maintenance and inspections to minimise equipment downtime.
• Repair and replace components, ensuring machinery is returned to a safe and operational condition.
• Complete service reports and documentation accurately.
• Liaise with customers and depot teams to provide updates on repairs and equipment condition.
• Manage daily workloads across the designated area.
