Job summary

Durham-based Mobile Plant Engineer role involving service, repair, and maintenance of plant equipment across sites. You will conduct safety inspections, preventative maintenance, and diagnostics, including PUWER and LOLER inspections on trailers and lifting gear.

Log activities via tablet with photos, parts used, and time data. The position offers field-based work with a company van, fuel card, and paid door-to-door travel from home, plus a 20-day holiday entitlement and pension.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with pumps, generators, excavators, or small plant machinery.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Own hand tools; specialist tools provided by employer.
• NVQ/Lantra/NPTC qualifications desirable.
• Experience with LOLER inspections preferred.

Responsibilities

• Service, repair, and maintain plant equipment including pumps, generators, excavators, and other site machinery.
• Safety inspections, preventative maintenance, and diagnostics to identify faults.
• Perform PUWER and LOLER inspections on trailers and lifting equipment.
• Complete defect checks and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Log all service activities using tablet devices with photos, parts used, and time data.
• Work independently on-site, ensuring safety and quality at all times.
