Job summary

Horizon Parking Ltd is seeking a Mobile Patrol Officer to cover Colchester and surrounding areas, with travel to Ipswich. The role is 40 hours across any 5 days, including weekends, and requires a full UK driving licence.

You will patrol car parks, issue notices where needed and maintain high standards of safety and service. They offer a company car, annual bonus, pension, holiday entitlement and a range of wellbeing and employee benefits.

Responsibilities

• Travel to and from allocated sites within visit cycles.
• Patrol and monitor car parks, keeping areas tidy and presentable.
• Maintain a professional image when dealing with third parties.
• Issue Parking Charge Notices as required in line with signage.
• Check parking equipment for proper operation.
• Restock tickets and perform minor repairs on machines; report faults.
• Replenish consumables in kiosks and ensure maintenance.
• Improve accessibility for all site users.
• Manage abusive situations and ensure safety.
• Provide excellent customer service and assistance as needed.
• Follow health and safety policies and perform other tasks as required.

What are we looking for?

• A reliable and trustworthy Mobile Patrol Officer, to work in Colchester & its surrounding areas, including travel to Ipswich.
• 40 hours per week, spread out over any 5 days of the week (will include some weekend working)
• A qualified driver who must be able to meet the Highway Code eyesight test requirements. Candidates must be able to read a vehicle number plate from a distance of 20 metres (65 feet) in good daylight, as stipulated by UK legislation. This is to ensure that all our drivers can perform their duties safely and in compliance with legal standards.

What will we expect in return?

• Travel to and from allocated sites within visit cycles provided, and/or as required.
• Patrol and monitor car parks, ensuring the car park is tidy and clean at all times.
• Maintain a professional image when dealing with third parties.
• Issue Parking Charge Notices as and when required, in line with the contraventions set out in the terms and conditions signage within the car park.
• Check if parking equipment is in working order.
• Restock machines with tickets, undertake minor repairs and maintenance of machines and report any faults to the Line Manager.
• Perform preventative maintenance and replenishment of consumables within payment and validation kiosks.
• Improve accessibility for all site users.
• Management of abuse of parking facilities.
• Provide excellent customer services and assist customers as and when required.
• Carry out duties in line with company health and safety policies and follow safe working practices.
• Carry out any other tasks and instructions as and when required.
