Brief Description

Deliver prompt and effective responses to all real-time Railway Operations and frontline response activities.

About the role (External)

In this crucial frontline role, you'll be responsible for responding promptly and effectively to any accidents and incidents on a section of the railway. You'll make a positive impact, helping us to resolve issues, and through investigation and reporting, ensure we understand how to prevent similar events in the future.

You may be required to take on the role of Rail Incident Officer, overseeing the establishment of a command structure and leading the coordination of infrastructure and service restoration activities. You'll also carry out operational support duties, including performance monitoring, weather contingency planning, audits, engineering work, stores ordering, and vehicle monitoring.

Requirements include:

  • Rail Incident Officer and Personal Track Safety training
  • The ability to learn, understand, and implement rules and regulations
  • Excellent communication skills, both in person and in writing
  • A full driving license
  • Self-motivated and assertive
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize duties effectively

This role involves working days, nights, and weekends, and is a safety-critical role subject to drug and alcohol testing and medical assessment.

You may also be required to perform signalling duties as part of your MOM role, which may involve a signalling assessment.

The successful applicant will attend a 7-week training course during induction.
