Andrews Recruitment Group is recruiting a Mobile Mechanical Fitter to support heavy industrial plant across sites in the South West, including Bristol, Gloucestershire, and Dorset. The role involves preventative maintenance, reactive repairs and mechanical fault finding.

You will travel between sites as part of the engineering team, carrying out maintenance on conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, motors and drive systems, with welding and fabrication duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Experienced Mechanical Fitters or Mechanical Maintenance Engineers from heavy industrial environments.
• Experience with bearings, gearboxes and conveyors preferred.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.
• Welding and fabrication experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) across multiple sites.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults.
• Replace bearings, gearboxes, motors and drive systems.
• Maintain conveyors, pumps, screens, crushers and associated plant.
• Weld and fabricate as required.
• Carry out plant inspections and condition monitoring.
• Support shutdowns and continuous improvement activities.
• Work safely in line with Health & Safety procedures.

Mobile Mechanical Fitter

Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 per annum + Overtime + Company Van + Pension + Holiday

Location: Covering sites across Bristol, Gloucestershire & Dorset

Are you an experienced Mechanical Fitter looking for a varied mobile role supporting heavy industrial plant across multiple production sites?

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading materials manufacturer for a Mobile Mechanical Fitter to carry out planned preventative maintenance, reactive breakdowns and mechanical repairs across several operational sites in the South West.

The Role

Working as part of the engineering team, you will travel between sites carrying out planned and reactive maintenance to ensure plant reliability and minimise downtime.

Typical duties will include:

• Planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
• Reactive breakdown diagnosis and repairs
• Mechanical fault finding
• Replacing bearings, gearboxes, motors and drive systems
• Maintenance of conveyors, pumps, screens, crushers and associated process plant
• Welding and fabrication repairs where required
• Plant inspections and condition monitoring
• Supporting shutdowns and continuous improvement activities
• Working safely in accordance with company Health & Safety procedures

You'll ideally have experience with:

• Mechanical maintenance and fault finding
• Bearings, gearboxes and conveyors
• Pumps, motors and drive systems
• Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Welding and fabrication (advantageous)
• Working independently across multiple sites
• Full UK Driving Licence
